EXSAS POWERTALK

On August 2, 2008, eighteen Exsas members gathered for the second Powertalk series in Kuala Lumpur held at Kinrara Golf Club, titled “My Journey to the Bursa”. The speaker was none other than our own, Tengku Yusof Tengku Ahmad Shahruddin, an ex-SEMSAS graduate of 1979.

Tengku shared his experiences starting from building his career before starting up his own company, to driving Dayang Enterprise into the Bursa. The event received very good responses from the participants where the questions range from the benefits of having one’s company publicly listed to as specific as how much capital is needed to run a certain operations. The informal ambience, allowed everyone to comfortably take part in the discussion and it was deemed a very fruitful session.

A special thanks to Tengku Yusuf for spending his own valuable time to share his knowledge with us. We hope more Exsas members will come forward to contribute towards producing more outstanding individuals in the Exsas community.

Previously, Exsas has organised one Powertalk session in KL and two in Kuantan (by Exsas@Kuantan).

Speaker’s Profile:

Tengku Yusof Tengku Ahmad Shahruddin, an anak jati Pahang, was a student of SEMSAS who graduated in 1979. He received his BSc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo in 1984.

Upon his graduation, he joined Leonhardt, Kerps & Lefevre Structural Engineering as a Structural Engineer in 1984. In 1985, he joined Modal Bina Jalan Sdn Bhd as Project Engineer. Subsequently in 1988, he took up the position as Sales Engineer with Mobil Oil Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

In 1991, he established Hexamas Sdn Bhd. Subsequently he was appointed Director of Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd in 1993. He is also a Director of Fortune Triumph Sdn Bhd and DESB Marine Services Sdn Bhd. He holds several directorships in other private limited companies in Malaysia, including Hexamas Sdn Bhd, Hexamas Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd, Pembinaan Sierra Mal Sdn Bhd, Samudra Makmur Sdn Bhd, and Pembinaan Sierra Indera Sdn Bhd.

Dayang Enterprise Holdings Berhad made its debut into the Bursa in April 2008 under Tengku Yusof’s directorship.
